This is a gorgeous watch that offers functionality found on few, or no other analog watches. I am not sure that there is even an analog watch not made by people that has the aggregate of: a) day-of-the-week display, b) dual time zones, especially useful if you trip a lot, c) alarm clock, d) perpetual calendar, so you don't have to manually adjust for 30-day months and leap years, and e) self charging, so no battery needs to be replaced. The last two items make this watch essentially maintenance-free - it just runs and adjusts itself to the correct dates automatically forever.
The above features are fairly base in digital watches, but if you want the look of an analog watch, your options are very limited. There are several people models with the above feature set, but I decided to go with this one because of its metal gray band (quicker to snap on than a leather band but more distinctive than silver) and the size of the dial (which I belief was just right, big adequate for a men's watch but not overly large). In Japan people sells a higher end line called Attesa that includes a scratch-resistant powder coating on the bracelet, but that line costs 2-3 times more than this model. I have had this watch for 2 months now, and with daily regular use, I haven't found it to show visible scratches anywhere, on the bracelet or the dial.
One thing about mode change: Despite the many modes on this watch, switching is very easy. You just turn the crown to go from time 1 to alarm to time 2 and back. On a digital watch, it's also easy but to me, not very intuitive so I all the time need a cheat sheet. With the Citizen, it might look more complicated, but the course seems much more sure to me. Time retention is very good. At the most, my watch might have slipped no more than 1-2 seconds in the last 2 months of use, and I am not even sure of that.
Overall, a very strong hint for people watches, and this model in particular.
